REEVES-BOLTON

Edgie Lee Reeves-Bolton was born May 14, 1932, in Ore City, Texas. She was the oldest child of Willie Edwards and Nina Durley. She was reared in the LaFayette Community in Pittsburg, Texas, and graduated from Center Point High School in Camp County. She attended several churches in Camp and Upshur counties but maintained her home church at Bethel Church in Longview, Texas.

Furthering her educational career, she attended Texas College in Tyler, Texas, where she pledged with Sigma Gamma Rho. Upon graduating from East Texas State University, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was a teacher for 33 years in the Pittsburg Independent School District, where she taught at the Elementary and Intermediate level. After retirement, she volunteered at Southern Wind Assisted Living in Pittsburg and was a Pink Lady at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg.

She passed away Monday, August 17, 2020, at Grace Hill Nursing Center in Hughes Springs, Texas. Left to mourn are her daughter, Sheila Dade and husband Will, of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Kenneth Reeves Sr. and wife, Lysette, of North Richland Hill, TX; Terence Reeves and wife, Barbara, of Tyler, TX; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Don Edwards and wife, Carolyn, of Mission Hills, CA; two step-daughters, Frankie Bolton and Kathliene Bolton, of Longview, TX; two step-sons, Larry Bolton and wife, Joy, of Longview, TX; Charles Bolton and wife, Shannis, of Gladewater, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Edwards and Nina Durley, husbands Theaotis Reeves and Walter E. Bolton, two brothers, Bobby Lee Edwards and Walter B. Edwards, and step-son Ardis Bolton.
