Mobile COVID-19 testing site comes to Pittsburg

A mobile testing site will be open in Pittsburg tomorrow by appointment only. Officials request that only those exhibiting known symptoms of the virus make appointments, as there is a limited number of tests.

Pittsburg City Mayor David Abernathy said in regard to the mobile test site: "The mobile testing site that will be established here on Wednesday, April 29, is part of the Phase 1 strategy to Re-open Texas. The state wanted a sampling of people from all counties across the state to determine if there were hidden hot-spots for COVID-19. Only those individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 will be screened, and this is by appointment only.

If a person has symptoms and wants to be tested on Wednesday, they will be required to go online at TXCOVIDTEST.ORG or call 512-883-2400 to be screened for an appointment. Again, they must have symptoms to be eligible. If they are eligible, a time will be given for that person to come to the testing site on Wednesday.

Thanks to everyone who has helped to not overwhelm the healthcare system with COVID-19 patients. Like most of you, we want to get our economy back, but in a safe manner to protect our most vulnerable and to keep a balance where our healthcare system can still deal with COVID-19 patients."
