LOVELESS

Ken Eugene Loveless died August 31, 2018 at his home in Austin, Texas. A memorial service for Loveless was held Oct. 13, 2018 at Onion Creek Masonic Lodge with internment at Macon Cemetery. Loveless was born May 29, 1934 in Mount Vernon to Hiram H. Loveless and Kyle Kyser Loveless.

Loveless is survived by his wife, Betty Burdette Loveless. They were married May 27, 1958 in Columbus, Georgia. He is also survived by his brother, Phillip Loveless of Gainesville, Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Loveless is a 1952 graduate of Pittsburg High School. He received a Radio License from Tyler Commercial College. He became a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and served his country for three years.

After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, he attended Georgia Tech and Georgia State. While completing the application process for the Federal Aviation Agency, he worked in the control room at WDAK TV in Columbus. Ultimately, his job with the FAA as an electronic tech took him to Atlanta, Puerto Ricco, Panama Canal Zone, Viet Nam and Miami. During his last 10 years with the FAA he administered a training program.

He obtained an MBA from the University of Miami. For a time, he taught evening classes in electronics at Miami Dade Community College.

While in Saigon, Vietnam, he became a 32-degree Mason Scottish Rite. In 2017, he was awarded the Golden Trowel, the lodge’s formal recognition of a Brother for his devoted service to Masonic principles in general or to his Lodge. In later life, he said the things that gave him the most pleasure was going to Masonic Lodge twice a week and football.
