A local educator has used her experiences to write a book aimed at helping women recognize and heal from their own toxic relationships. “Sis, Stop Sleeping; It’s Only an Illusion” was recently published through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing Company by author and educator, Vernetta Mason-Castleberry.

Mayor Abernathy takes the oath of office for Mayor of Pittsburg for another term. Mayor Abernathy has been a volunteer firefighter for over 47 years, was co-founder of the Camp County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) serving as its president for 13 years, served as volunteer fire marshal for over 30 years, and is a reserve deputy sheriff.

UT Health East Texas EMS ambulance service earns accreditation

UT Health East Texas EMS has earned a fifth consecutive, three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services for its compliance with national standards of excellence, receiving a perfect score from the reviewers. UT Health East Texas EMS is one of only 180 ambulance services in the country to successfully complete the voluntary review process, which included completion of a comprehensive application and on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services. With this achievement, UT Health East Texas EMS continues to be the only accredited ambulance service in East Texas.
