On May 15, the Camp County Commissioners met in a regular session to consider agenda items and hold a discussion. City Manager, Clint Hardeman, spoke to the commissioners regarding a contract for services and a resolution to convey to the city real property, part of Lot 1, Block 25, both of which was approved by the commissioners.
On Wednesday, May 15 the Pittsburg Rotary Club heard from nine Pittsburg High School graduating seniors who were the recipients of Rotary Scholarships. With 38 applications to go through, the Rotary Club’s scholarship committee awarded these nine students based on their community service, financial hardship, and academic dedication.
The Camp County Jail has been under construction for many months due to its new addition. Last Sunday, the jail hosted an open house for the public to see the new rooms. With three new single person cells, two new four person cells, two new six person cells, and a new padded cell, or, “rubber room,” the jail will be capable of holding a larger capacity.
