• The Pittsburg Pioneer Club received a special award at the Texas Federated Women’s Clubs’ convention in Richardson for the 2005-2006 club year. The Pioneer Club is affiliated with the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs (TFWC) as well as the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). • In a play titled “Summer Dreams,” presented by 2nd 2 None students in Mary Ruth Towsend’s second grade class, the television played a prominent role. Television set players were Caleb Banks, Cooper Carter, and Mark Torres. Some students thought it would be fun to watch television all summer, but had a change of heart after being glued to the tube for two or three months.

• Over 200 Camp County residents travel to Cookville to participate in Hands Across America. The campaign raised money for the hungry and homeless.
