45 YEARS AGO: Virtually all voters voted in the Democratic Primary then because there were no local races in the Republican Primary. Now, most Camp County voters vote in the Republican Primary and all county officeholders are Republican.

55 YEARS AGO: Jerry Cannaday was PHS ‘62. His father, Leonard Cannaday, was head football coach here from 1956 to 1962.

65 YEARS AGO: Nancy Sneed Anderson won state in shorthand. Mabel Potter was a high school teacher who taught the UIL Literary competitors in shorthand and typing. She sent several students to Austin to the state meet and had more than one state champion.
