CASA welcomes new advocates

CASA of Titus, Camp, and Morris Counties is pleased to welcome Ashley Dietz and Jennifer Tosh. Ashley and Jennifer took an oath before the Honorable Judge Loughmiller in Camp County on Dec. 21. Ashley and Jennifer completed 30 hours of training and courtroom observation. Ashley and Jennifer are the newest CASA Volunteer who have accepted their first case and are advocating for children that are in the foster care system. CASA volunteers work for the best interest of the child/children making sure they have a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible. CASA volunteers are citizens in our community, just like you, that want to make a difference in a child/children’s lives while they are removed from their families and placed in foster care. NTCC receives $25,000 from Brookshire’s Grocery Co. “Focus On the Future” program

Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) is proud to announce the establishment of the “Focus on the Future” scholarship program which is in partnership with more than 40 universities and colleges in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. This more than $1 million donation is a substantial representation of BGC’s dedication to education and giving back to those who aspire to build a better future in the communities it serves. As part of this program, the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received $25,000 to establish an endowed scholarship.

International Sulphur gives $10,500 for NTCC transfer scholarships

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $10,500 gift from International Sulphur, Inc. The funds will provide seven $1,500 scholarships to NTCC graduates transferring to a university to continue their studies. Since 2000, International Sulphur has given more than $115,000 for NTCC scholarships. This year they doubled their contribution to provide even more money to more students. Recent recipients of the scholarship include: Blake Denson, Jada Fisher, Victor Gonzalez, Tonya Hammonds, Dioseny Mejia and Christopher Perry (spring 2020 NTCC graduates).

Dodson Family donates to First Grade

Dr. Dia Hardeman, owner of Dodson Family Chiropractic, donated her services again this year in order to make a generous donation to the First Grade at Pittsburg Primary. The donation will be used to purchase items that will support, enhance, and foster the love of learning. The first grade teachers and administration at the primary would like to thank Dr. Hardeman and her patients for the kind donation.
