Happy New Year! In my family, we have a New Year’s Tradition of eating black-eyed peas, cabbage, and cornbread on New Year’s Day. Cornbread is said to symbolize gold, cabbage is said to represent money (dollar bills) hence its color, and black-eyed peas symbolize prosperity (coins). Different family have different traditions. Whatever your traditions are, I hope you spend time with your loved ones!
