Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, was recently recognized at the international level. Members from the group participated in PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s international convention, April 8-10. The event was hosted virtually this year due to COVID-19.
On Saturday, PHS had one student attend the Region UIL Academic Meet. Sophomore David Flores competed in the Science contest. David’s score on the Physics section placed him 24th out of 43 competitors!
This is NTCC’s 7th year to participate in East Texas Giving Day, a regional online giving/fundraising event. Our students and programs benefit greatly from donations made during this time because wonderful matching grant opportunities really stretch the power of every dollar given.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $20,000 gift from the East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF). The funds were made available to the College by the ETCF through a planned gift from the estate of the late Burt and Nancy Marans, formerly of Pittsburg. This donation will contribute to the new Shelby Restoration Center that will soon be built on the NTCC campus.
