The Pittsburg Lions Club held its District Cabinet meeting at Anvil Brewing in October and collected over 60 coats for children. The coats were donated to Pittsburg ISD to be given out to children in need of a coat this winter. Elementary School Counselor Jenny Thompson accepted the coats on behalf of the school district.
There have been several issues that have lately caused unrest among the members of our military, including the recent withdrawal from Afghanistan, vaccine mandates, and impending difficulties with China. So during this Veterans Day, it seems a fitting time to remember our veterans of all wars, and what they have sacrificed for us.
Camp County Sheriff John Cortelyou was notified of an apparent homicide on Nov. 6 just before noon. The deceased is Makayla Goodson, 21, a Camp County resident who was initially discovered by her boyfriend. Ms. Goodson had been shot several times.
