A spring garden of 25 rows, planted hopefully with purple hull peas, pinto beans, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and a few other crops, is coming up nicely. This garden is worked by and for the Camp County Jail inmates. The inmates will raise the vegetables and then prepare the food as well.
Pittsburg’s business sector is going into a growing stage this summer according to Niecy Baum, Pittsburg’s Community Development Coordinator.
Early voting in the May 24 primary runoff elections ends Friday, May 20. Under state law, voters who cast ballots in either party’s primary election must vote only in the same party’s runoff election. Voters who did not cast ballots in the primary may vote in either party’s runoff election.
We aren’t quite there yet, but the temperature gauge is starting to point to summer already. It is looking like East Texas will have an early and long summer.
