During the regular meeting of the PISD school board on August 15, the subject of the proposed school bond election was discussed. The bond passed the board unanimously, and will come before the voters in the November 8 general election.
The Lady Pirate Volleyball team enjoyed two time the success at Hughes Springs on Friday. The JV White Volleyball team won 2-0, and the Varsity Volleyball team won 3-2 after being down 2-0. The last set was a 16-14 win.
The Pirates have thrown down the gauntlet and challenged the Mount Pleasant Tigers to a fighting match on August 26, on the Tigers’ home ground.
Jmar Jefferson was the guest speaker for the Camp County Democrat Party in Pittsburg on August 9 at the Douglass Alumni Community Center at the regular meeting.
