Any unsuspecting person who came to downtown Pittsburg might have been surprised to see the ghouls and goblins that were inhabiting Main Street on Saturday afternoon.
Laurie Smith, district-wide school nurse, will be sworn in as the President of Texas School Nurses Organization in Houston on November 6. Smith is currently the President Elect over this organization, but will now oversee all the schools in the state of Texas.
The Pittsburg ISD GLP program have accomplished a goal that they have been working on for several years now. They had a 100 percent pass rate for both the freshman and varsity athletic periods. The girls were rewarded with speeches from Jack Stallard, Superintendent Terry Waldrep, Mrs. Stewart, and Mrs. Calcote and some ice cream.
A youthful Pittsburg Lady Pirate team battled in a tough volleyball district and found themselves with a shot to reach the playoffs this season.
The Pittsburg Pirates will be a part of the UIL 4A playoffs. They will also most likely get a rematch with topranked Carthage.
