Northeast Texas Community College will be hosting their first post-Covid fundraising event showcasing the Culinary Arts in downtown Pittsburg on November 30. Organized by the catering class, all funds raised will benefit the Culinary Arts Program.
During the regular meeting of the City Council on November 14, MHS Planning and Design out of Tyler presented some conceptual plans to the Council that include a Pittsburg Plaza, road improvements, artistic crosswalks on some of the side streets, pedestrian bump outs on Main Street, additions to the Alley, and several other items.
Smarty Roping celebrated the grand opening of their new Supply Store in Mount Pleasant last Friday with a day full of food, fun, door prizes and product demonstrations. The new 7,500 square foot retail space hosts all of your favorite products from Smarty, Elite Custom Saddles, Weaver Leather and Classic Rope. Inside you will find a wide variety of saddles, ropes, apparel, and much more.
The National Finals Rodeo is just around the corner, running from December 1 through December 10. Priefert Manufacturing of Mount Pleasant is the Official Rodeo and Ranch equipment supplier of the PRCA which is the sanctioning body that hosts the NFR. The NFR is held at the Thomas and Mack Center on the UNLV campus in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Priefert Rodeo and Ranch team has 13 athletes competing this year for the NFR.
