All three of the Lady Pirate Volleyball teams won over Linden on Tuesday. The JV White won 2-0, JV Gold won 2-0 and Varsity won 3-1.

The Camp County Republican Club hosted a Town Hall-style meeting on August 25 at LaLa Pops, appropriately dubbed Ice Cream and Issues. Invited guest speakers were County Judge AJ Mason, Christian Yantis, and Terry Waldrep, superintendent of Pittsburg ISD. Judge AJ Mason discussed the recent adoption of the 2022-2023 budget and 2022 tax rate, and the county’s intent to utilize American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, offered for Covid relief, to expand the jail to 52 beds and include a padded cell.
Alice Lynn Peckham was arrested on August 22 by PPD for public intoxication.
At approximately 9 a.m. on August 23, the Pittsburg Police Department received a call from Guaranty Bank in reference to an attempt to cash a fraudulent check.
