For most people, the word cancer implies that there’s a tumor or mass growing somewhere in the body. However, contrary to popular belief, not all cancers form tumors.
Queen Emily Jayde Janway is a seventeen- year-old Senior at Pittsburg High School sponsored by The Pittsburg Lions Club. She is a member of the GLP Athletics and FFA. She is also on the A/B Honor Roll. Emily plans to attend Southern Arkansas or the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to become an Animal Science Teacher. Queen Emily is the daughter of Jeffery and Victoria Janway, the granddaughter of Gary and Mary Janway of Mena Arkansas and the late Lora Dean of Hot Springs Arkansas.
The Camp County Commissioners held their regular meeting, and there was much to discuss regarding the new Camp County Jail’s recent inspection. County Judge AJ Mason shared that the jail passed inspection, and now the “out of towners” who were previously in jails in other counties are now in the new jail facility.
Last Friday at the Pittsburg Homecoming game, Miss Kelly Guereca was announced as the 2024 PHS Homecoming Queen.
