Gene Baxter contends for safer highway

On July 3, 2020, at approximately 5:10 p.m., five people were killed in a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 271 north when the driver of a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe lost control and collided with a southbound 2013 Nissan Quest. A heavy rainstorm was in the area at the time of the crash, and the Chevrolet hydroplaned, crossing into the southbound lanes where it hit the Nissan.
