O ur Summer Reading Program ended July 14, 2023. I want to say “Thank You” to all of our Sponsors starting with the Friends of the Library, who pay for all of our Performers throughout the Summer. Deja Vu Consignments, City National Bank-Pittsburg, Cypress Bank-Pittsburg, Pittsburg Autolube Plus, Lions Club-Pittsburg, First National Bank Of East Texas who provided refreshments. Sponsors that provided prizes are: Cypress Bank-Pittsburg, Candies CrossTies, City of Pittsburg, Sonic-Pittsburg, Lala Pops, McDonald’s-Pittsburg, Golden Chick, Crayola Experience-Plano. A special thank you to Dr. Dometrius Hill of Songahm Martial Arts Academy, Daingerfield State Park, Mt. Barnwell Crossing was across Cypress Creek near Ebeneezer community 1953 was the first year for little league baseball in Pittsburg. League started with four teams, Prides, Bankers, Cubs, and Gliders. Prides were sponsored by Charles Padgett Gulf Station. Later they were sponsored by Pilgrim Vita Mix Feed and name changed to Feeders. Bankers were sponsored by Pittsburg National Bank. Cubs were sponsored byTravis Battles Ford and Gliders sponsored by Presley Chevrolet Later Glider sponsor was Rotary club and name changed to Wheels.
