Dr. Clinton announces limited campus reopening

Dr. Ron Clinton, President of NTCC, has announced that Northeast Texas Community College began a limited reopening of the main campus this summer to students and visitors who need more personal access to essential services beginning Monday, June 1, 2020. Although officials say they wish they could open more fully at this time, in order to comply with Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s recent GA-18 and GA-23 directives on building occupancy limits, campus visits will be by appointment only until further notice. You can call or e-mail to schedule a convenient time for your visit.

For their performance in challenging honors courses at NTCC in relation to their peers, two Presidential Scholars will win $100 checks. NTCC’s Dr. Jerry Wesson Scholar, Verania Leyva Garcia, who finished this past May, was the sophomore who took all twenty-one hours of requisite honors courses, including some rigorous special courses under Dr. Drew Murphy in chemistry, and ended with the highest GPA. Katelyn Marie Cox won her award as an honors freshman, ranking number one in the Stat-Psych Honors Seminar taught this past spring by Dr. Karyn Skaar and Dr. Paula Wilhite.
