Earl Henry Evans

Earl Henry Evans, 95, of Levelland passed from this life on September 7, 2022. A celebration of his life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, September 12, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Jimenez of Cactus Drive Church of Christ officiating.

Visitation is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Sunday, September 11, at Krestridge Funeral Home.

Earl Henry Evans was born May 3, 1927, in Lockney, Texas, to Elijah Malachi and Maggie Lemmie (Witcher) Evans. The youngest of 10 siblings, he grew up in Lockney as well as Morton, Texas.

He married Minnie Ellen Drum in February 1948 and together they had three children, Loyd Douglas, Karen Earlene and Gary Don.

Earl had two major passions in life: first was family and second was the custom harvesting business. The Evans family played a significant role in harvesting grain from Texas to North Dakota for over 74 years. Earl started his own harvesting business at the age of 19. He and his wife, Ellen, were inducted into the U.S. Custom Harvesters, Inc. Hall of Fame in 2000.

He is preceded in death by his two sons, Doug and Don Evans; granddaughter, Courtney Ellen Cigainero; parents, Elijah and Maggie Evans; six brothers, Charlie, John, Walter, Loyd, Floyd, and E.M. Evans; three sisters, Ruby Irick, Tommie Fullerton, and Jessie Brock.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughter, Earlene Cigainero and Travis; daughter-in-law, Leslie Evans; grandchildren, Megan Tisler and Logan, Matt Evans and Traci, Kari Cigainero-Mardari and Sergiu, Morgan Combs and Brad, Katie Massie and Ethan, Jacob Evans and Breeanna Kouba; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Ty Tisler, Sealey and Sloan Combs, Sterling Evans, Destiny and Macie Thomas.
