Lady Pirates Basketball hosts successful camp

The 2018 Lady Pirate summer basketball camp was an enormous success as 52 future Lady Pirates basketball players attended.

This was the first camp for the new Pittburg High School Girls Athletic Coordinator and Head Lady Pirate Basketball Coach John Chatham.

The camp focused on basketball fundamentals, such as ball handling, dribbling, passing, footwork, guarding on defense and teamwork. But, a major part was having lots of fun. Thursday afternoon the parents, grandparents, and guardians of the girls gathered to watch a group demonstration of the skills the aspiring athletes had learned and from the smiles, giggles, and laughter, the fun part was evident.

Coach Keith Shelton, Coach Meagan Peters, former Lady Pirates sisted Chatham.

The school will host another camp later in the Coach Star Smith, Coach Shaundrea Rhymes and Coach T’Andra Duffey as-2018-1019 school year before the Little Dribblers program begins.
