Junior golf tour wraps up June

The East Texas Junior Golf Tour finished its last June event in Pittsburg at Princedale Country Club. On a beautiful but hot day the junior golfers competed to work towards the Tour Championship Invite at the end of July. Cole Turner (Redwater) won the High School Boys division. Mason Garrett (Mount Pleasant) won the High School Girls Division. Matthew Peterson (Mount Pleasant) won the Junior High Boys division and Connor Dillon (Nacogdoches) won the 11 & Under Division.

With only three events left, all the junior golfers are scrambling to get into the Junior Tour Championship. This is a 36-hole competition scheduled for July 23-24 at the Mount Pleasant Country Club and is by invitation only. Invitations are based on finishing places in the standings over the course of the entire East Texas Junior Golf Tour. With only three events to play to qualify for the Tour Championship, many junior golfers will be sharpening up their game over the coming weeks. The tour takes off the week of July 4th and all golfer tournaments will start up the next week. The next date on the schedule is July 12 at Paris Country Club.
