Help save the Pittsburg Independence Blast

As you may have heard, the Pittsburg July 4th celebration and fireworks show were cancelled due to the lack of a sponsoring organization. The Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber board members recently voted to serve as the sponsoring organization, understanding the importance of our July 4th celebration for our entire community. The fireworks display has been celebrated and enjoyed by thousands of Pittsburg and Camp County residents, as well as by visitors from surrounding communities, for the past 35-plus years. It’s an evening enjoyed by children of all ages from preschool-age children, to teens, to parents and grandparents. The Chamber is committed to carrying on this wonderful, family-friendly tradition but we cannot do so without you! A minimum of $15,000 is needed to fund our July 4th Celebration. Here’s how you can help:
• Make a personal donation – If your family loves our annual Independence Day Blast, you can help to ensure that this family-friendly tradition continues by making a personal donation. Donation drop off locations are located at the Chamber Office, Wallace Law Firm and Pilgrim Bank. You can also donate online via Facebook. If you are on Facebook, please make a personal donation and then share the “Go Fund Me” campaign on your page – Save Pittsburg’s Fireworks Show. Purchase your Parachute Bingo Tickets – Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20. The winner will be awarded $1,000. Exciting news – if all of the parachute bingo tickets are sold, Mayor Shawn Kennington has agreed to jump and land on this year’s winning number! Tickets may be purchased at City Hall, Wallace Law Firm, Pilgrim Bank (downtown and the Brookshire’s branch), Big Earl’s, Texas Country Farm Supply, Mayben’s, Guaranty Bank & Trust
• Volunteer – As you can imagine, a July 4th celebration requires volunteers on the day of the event. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the Chamber.
