Holcomb

Rose Holcomb, 94, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 in Dallas.

Rose was born, Rose Inez Babb to H. O. Babb and Johnie Kate Rose Babb on March 4, 1924. She was married to O.C. Holcomb who proceeded her in death on June 2, 1977. Rose was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg for over 60 years.

Rose’s faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was tested many times, first when her husband O. C. Holcomb suddenly was called home 41 years ago, later again when crippling arthritis left her creative hands unable to do the things she once loved; sewing, cooking, quilt making, and oil painting. Then it was Parkinson Disease that slowly took away almost everything her body had left. Still she never complained of her problems and never lost her love for her family or friends. More importantly, Rose’s love and her deep faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was tested many times; her faith never once waivered.

Rose is survived by two sons, Hal Holcomb and wife Elizabeth of Dallas, and Dudley Holcomb and wife Kathy of McLeod. Four grandchildren, Charles Holcomb and wife Gillian of Dallas, John Holcomb and wife Megan of Dallas, Heather Webb and husband Paul, and Evan Holcomb of Bivins; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Megan, and Avery Holcomb and Kelsey and Harleigh Fulquin; two sisters; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
