Rotary Gets Massaged
The Rotary Club held its weekly meeting at noon on Wednesday, March 18, in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church.
Sonya Warrick Parker, the Republican Party County Chair, stood to share that she would be joining the Rotary Club.
On April 2, the Thursday before Easter, First United Methodist Church will be reenacting the Last Supper at 6:00pm.
Roni Arias received her +1 Paul Harris pin. a Rotary International recognition awarded to individuals who have contributed an additional $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation, Rotarian Rusty Dill sponsored Sandra Oates of San Massage, a master massage therapist, whose office is at Main Street Healthcare, 127 Quitman, Pittsburg. She spoke about her training at the Texas School of Massage in Clear Lake, Texas. She came here from Houston with her husband in 2022. Sandra described the types of massage she presents to her clients; Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Thai inspired and Ashiatsu. She has worked with gymnasts, soccer, hockey, football and baseball players, infants, seniors, and palliative care patients. Ms Oates stated that she listens to her clients explain what hurts and is not working, assesses the best type of massage that will support their relief and healing, and offers her analysis of what therapy will best support their healing going forward. She is in her office by 9am each morning during the week. The majority of her business has been through word of mouth. She stated, “massage lengthens quality of life, and my passion has been to work with hospice patients, relieving their stress, and helping them to breath”.
