Opal Brock Holt

Opal Brock Holt was born in Lamesa, Texas on the 18th of July, 1933. She passed from this life February 4th in Gilmer, Texas. She was the second of seven children born to Clyde Franklin Brock and Dora Lee Wilson.

Opal married Louie Wilburn Holt in Lamesa, Texas in 1952. Together they raised four children while living in southern California. Later in life, they settled in a pleasant rural home in the Pine community of Pittsburg, Texas, where she was a faithful member of the Pine Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by Louie Wilburn Holt, her husband of sixty one years, her son Louie Eldon Holt and a step-son Louie Verneil Holt. Also preceded by brothers Tommy Lee Brock, Everrett Franklin Brock, Jimmy Crawford Brock, Robert Cecil Brock, and sister Dorothy “Dot” Davis.

She is survived by three children, Teresa Farrow of Pittsburg, Darrell Holt of Mt. Pleasant, and Denise Holt of Dallas, as well as two step-daughters, Cricket Ball and Shirley Murphy, both of California. Also surviving is one sister, Marie (Helen) Dehn of Lubbock, as well as thirteen grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
