Rollins

Martin Vernon Rollins, Jr. passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 9, 2018, at his home on Lake Bob Sandlin. He was 88.

A celebration of his life was held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. Family and friends gathered Wednesday in the Great Room at the funeral home. He was laid to rest with his wife, Reba in Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Vernon was born in Handley on Aug. 13, 1930. He worked in the welding consulting/inspection field until he retired at 84 years old. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.

In addition to his children, Doug Rollins and his wife, Paula, and Rebecca Cyphers and her husband, David; Vernon is survived by his two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Jones; brother Robert Rollins and his wife, Wanda; and nieces and nephews and their families.

In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the American Cancer Society or Heartsway Hospice, Longview, in his memory, is suggested.
