Art Projects Fly High

The Pittsburg Kite Festival Committee held a coloring competition in advance of the Festival. The City partnered with the local schools providing a drawing of a flying kite. Students would color the picture at school and submit their entries before spring break. There were over 300 entries received and reviewed by the Main Street Committee. The top two pictures for each age division were selected. From this group the Committee then chose the top three colored drawings. Those three entries were placed on the City’s facebook and social media outlets. Members of the local community voted for the first, second, and third place winners. The entries were announced at the Festival on March 20. The first-place winner’s artwork will be featured on the official 2027 Kite Festival T-shirt.
