The Camp County Commissioners Court awarded the bid for the Jail Expansion Project to Tegrity Contractors during their regular meeting on May 3. Deciding upon the second option out of several, this bid will expand the jail from its current 34 beds to 52.
Nakena James officially opened Pulse Academy, a school to train high quality health care workers, on April 28.
The kids of the First Methodist Church in Pittsburg are learning that neighbors don’t just live next door. They have joyfully given to their mission project, “Get A Goat”. Each Sunday, kids--with the help of adults--filled their “Get A Goat” fishbowl with offerings, hoping to provide a goat for a family in a poverty-stricken country. Recently, we celebrated reaching past our goal of one goat. These mission-minded kids had enough for not just one goat, but two goats, one cow, one pig, two roosters, four chickens, and six rabbits! With the assistance of our choir, cartoon faces popped up to represent each farm animal much to the delight of First Kids and our church family.
