Presenting Driving Miss Daisy
Firefly Community Theatre, with Pittsburg Camp County Arts Council, will deliver a fun and emotional ride with a production of Alfred Uhry’s Driving Miss Daisy July 14-16 at Pittsburg High School Auditorium. As the comedy that won a Pulitzer Prize, Driving Miss Daisy is a subtle portrait of the changing nature of relationships between black and white in the South over the decades. As the years – and cars – pass, Jewish widow Daisy Werthan and her chauffeur Hoke Coleburn deal with growing racial tensions, social upheaval, and deep understanding, along with forgiveness, to become respectful and protective friends.
