Lions Network the Community
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at noon, in the NTCC Hansen Sewell campus meeting room, the Lions Club met for their weekly gathering. James Wallace, First Vice President, opened the meeting, and led in with discussion around the proposed pancake fundraising dinner, eye glasses gathering for redistribution, and membership.
Judy Jackson, Membership Chair, made this statement. “Your Lions Club has almost completed a very successful year of service and support to our community. Projects included providing monetary support for an endowed scholarship fund at NTCC to four award winning 4-H kids, support for the library, Camp County Christmas for Kids, MOM Ministry, Pittsburg Museum, God’s Closet, Pioneer Days, Open Door Resource Center, Hot Link Festival, Blood Drive, Museum Chili Contest, July 4 Fireworks Show, PISD back to school event, Christmas Parade, yearly sponsor of Peach Queen festivities, Easter Egg Hunt for the visually impaired, an evening Egg Hunt, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day honor programs. And, of course, we sponsored two kids to Lions Camp. We made yearly contributions to the Eye Bank, collected over 1,000 eyeglasses to be redistributed to those in need, and supported our Lions International Charitable Foundation. We raised funds for giving via a Baked Potato Sale and various raffles.
“And, perhaps due to all of that work, equating to thousands of hours of volunteer time, our Club membership has grown to 30 members, meeting an important goal. We enjoy a social once a quarter for fun, because all work and no play makes Lions a dull club. As membership chair, I urge you to renew your membership, and from your club, You are missed.
”Please, help us to continue to grow and expand our services to others. Attend one or two meetings a month, or four, or help out at a service event. Bring a friend and support your club.”
