Texas Rust Rally

The Texas Rust Rally will debut Saturday, June 16 at Anvil Brewing. This is a free event host to raise funds for the Texas Rust Foundation to help families in Camp County who can’t afford and need emergency construction or remodeling for their homes. The daylong event begins at noon and includes a car show, mini bike races, a pin-up contest, trophies, dancing and fun for the entire family.

Kennedy family reunion

The annual Kennedy family reunion will begin with a fish fry and crawfish boil on Friday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. The family reunion will follow Saturday, June 16 with activities starting with worship service 11 a.m. at New Testament Church then remaining activities will take place at the Kennedy Homestead at 640 County Road 1140 in Pittsburg. The Father’s Day breakfast will be Sunday, June 17 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. Rotary Salad Lunch

The Pittsburg Rotary Club will host a Triple Salad Place Luncheon Wednesday, June 27 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the NTCC Hanson-Sewell Center. For only $10, you’ll enjoy a green salad, chicken salad, pasta salad and a slice of melon. Dine-in and carry out /Carry Out and Delivery available. Union Ridge United Methodist Church at 2611 FM 1975 in Gilmer will be having their “Catch a Wave of God’s amazing love” vacation bible school June 15 and 16 at 5:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Their program on Sunday, June 17 at 9:30 a.m. will be followed by breakfast on the beach. First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg will host a Family Vacation Bible School. Fun In The “Son” will be held June 19-21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This will be a time for families to come together to share a meal, arts and crafts, grow in worship and participate in fun family games.

Who doesn’t love fresh veggies and fruits this time of year? The Pittsburg Farmer’s Market is now open. Support our local farmers each Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon at Texas Country Farm Supply.

God’s Closet Summer Hours

God’s Closet’s new summer hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mon-Sat. Summer Meals for kids hours are breakfast 9-10 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Senior fun time is 1-3 p.m. every Wednesday. Food distribution is still 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday and Friday.

Marshall June 23

East Texas Taco Fest

The inaugural East Texas Taco Fest will fill downtown Marshall June 23 with heavenly spices and Mariachi music and tons of tacos. Chihuahua racing, professional wrestling, and a margarita pour-off will also be on tap.
