On May 4, 2024, Thomas Michael Clark Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at his beloved home “Salty Air Retreat” on Galveston Island that he shared with his treasured wife Joanna “Shoogies” Roberts Clark. Mike was born July 21, 1975 in Hope, AR. He was a 1993 graduate of Pittsburg High School. He proudly served his country through the US Coast Guard from 1993-1997. He served as a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy, worked at various car dealerships in Northeast Texas, and was currently working at Gracey Insurance in Texas City. He loved his beach life with his dear Joanna and loved to gather family and friends to share his newest cooking creations as he enjoyed the camaraderie, storytelling & fellowship. He was a proud charter member of the It Don’t Suck Beach Club. Mike is survived by his wife Joanna, his parents Pam and Brian Roberts, his Uncle Ken & Aunt Sara Clark, sidekick Sammy Joe and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends/adopted family. A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2024, at Moody Methodist Church in Galveston, TX at 1pm. All are welcome as we gather again to celebrate the gift of time spent with Mike and help one another say good-bye for now. Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg has a registry book available for anyone in the Pittsburg area that would like to go by on Friday, May 17, 2024, and Monday, May 20, 2024, between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. to share their condolences.

Mrs. Dorothy Sue Smith, 85, of Pittsburg, Texas, died at her home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was born on January 14, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to Don Gilbert and Flossie Pauline Blevins. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Sue graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1956, attended East Texas State University and North Texas State University, and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Sue married her high school classmate, Kenneth Smith, on June 27, 1959. Sue and Kenneth own Smith Properties, Pittsburg, Texas. She retired from Smith Properties, where she worked as the property manager. Sue and Kenneth also held and operated the W. L. Garrett & Sons department store.
