Basketball season starts on high note

In their first meeting this season, the Carthage Bulldogs jumped out to a 45-point first half lead on the Pittsburg Pirates before the Pirates finished the game on a 22-6 run. Pittsburg didn’t win the game, but there was cause for optimism as the team battled in the second half.
The PISD Junior High football team won over Gilmer on November 2 with a 24-14 win. That win declared this group to be the 2022 7th grade district champions of Region 7, 4A Division II with an overall record of 7-1. They are the undefeated champions of the district with a 5-0 score.
Jacob Berryhill placed fifth overall at the 4A UIL State Cross Country Meet at Round Rock on November 4. Berryhill has been selected by the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas (CCCAT) for the All-State Team. According to Athletic Director Triston Abron, Berryhill has worked hard helping build the cross country team in Pittsburg and will be greatly missed.
In their final home game of the regular season, the Pittsburg Pirates wanted to find momentum as they prepare to enter the playoffs.
