July 4th: More than Independence
American citizens know well that July 4 is a day to celebrate the independence of the United States. Last week, many were able to celebrate this holiday with annual traditions of cookouts, spending time with friends and family, and, of course, fireworks. While July 4 has been America’s Independence Day for centuries, there are many other significant and historical events that have also occurred on this date.
