Catalytic converter thefts lead to arrest

A rash of thefts of catalytic converters has struck the neighborhood in the past several months. The Pittsburg Police Department worked a case at Nelson Propane in Pittsburg on Mar. 29 where investigation produced a suspect—Brett David Perry—and also led to a business in Mount Pleasant. The Mount Pleasant Police Department arrested the owner of the business in question and recovered a total of 28 catalytic converters while Perry was arrested by the Camp County Sheriff Department.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and CASA of Titus, Camp, and Morris Counties is raising awareness of the need for more dedicated members of the community to step up and become CASA volunteers to help break the cycle of abuse and neglect by supporting local children and families.

Members of the Pittsburg Rotary Club attended the 2022 Foundation Dinner for Rotary International District 5830 on Mar. 19. The event was held in Marshall and was attended by Rotarians from around northeastern Texas, southeastern Oklahoma, and southwestern Arkansas which comprises District 5830. This District is composed of 42 clubs and over 1,500 members.
