Thelma Patterson Taylor was born November 27, 1930 in Leesburg, Texas to James and Myrtle Patterson and went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2019 in Pittsburg at the age of 88.

Mrs. Taylor was foremost a homemaker who took very good care of her family. She was a gifted seamstress and even made clothes for her family. In her 40’s, she started working outside the home as a professional seamstress, always being very conscientious in her work, wanting to produce the best product possible. After she retired, she kept herself busy taking care of others in various ways including volunteering at the Camp County Senior Citizens Building. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg and especially enjoyed attending her wonderful ladies Sunday School class until she no longer was physically able to attend, although the ladies in her class were still a vital part of her life, visiting her and taking care of her any way they could.

She is survived by her son, Danny Taylor of Pittsburg; daughter, Angela Taylor Smith and husband, Kyle of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Thomas Smith and his wife, Katie; Katie Thompson and her husband, Corey; Deanna Casteneda, Julio Casteneda, Alex Casteneda and Chris Casteneda; several great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lillian Pruden and husband, Ted; as well as other friends and relatives.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Taylor; parents, James and Myrtle Patterson; daughter, Melissa Casteneda; brother, Crim Patterson; and sister, Buna McConnell.

Visitation was from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2019 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
