Obituary for Norma Louise Prestwood

Graveside services for Norma Louise Prestwood, 91, of Pittsburg, will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., at Springhill Cemetery, Naples, Texas with Brother Doye Wilbanks officiating.

 

Louise went to be with her Lord on June 25.  Born to parents, Fred and Stella Carver on December 23, 1928, in Chico, Texas.  Louise leaves behind five children, Bobby and Adriana Prestwood, Austin, Judy and Mike Jackson, Pittsburg, Deby Hollenbeck, Georgetown, Hal and Becky Prestwood, Oklahoma City, and Tony and Debbie Prestwood, Round Rock.  And eight grandchildren, 14, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Bobby Prestwood and brothers, Howard Carver, Fred Carver, Johnny Carver and sisters, Ruth Wiley, Maurice Downing and Joyce Bray.

 

Louise and Bob began married life in Wichita Falls where she began her dream of being a mother to five children.  The dream became true and she devoted her life to raising children in a Christian home full of love.  In 1966, Bob’s work brought the family to Daingerfield in East Texas.  Louise excelled at being a Mom and later transferred those skills and love to her next career of being a Grandmother.  Life on the farm with Mama and Papa was something the grands and great grands cherished.  She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Daingerfield.

 

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Renee’ Reynolds for the time spent providing special loving care to Louise, along with care received from the staff of Southern Wind Manor.
