Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Cheste

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Chester, of Pittsburg, age 85, died Saturday Jan. 12, 2019 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Mrs. Chester was born September 27, 1933 in Bedford, Indiana to Lester and Thelma Hawkins Cole.

Mrs. Chester worked 20 years for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department as captain of the reserves and was the site manager for Meals on Wheels in Gilmer. She also worked for AAFES for 20 years. Mrs. Chester was a member of Blodgett Church of Christ and volunteered for Heart to Heart Hospice.

Mrs. Chester is survived by her daughters, LaDonna Ann Hayes, Jeanie Wilson, and Brandy Kinard; son, Richard Conger; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and sisters, Kittie McClain and Carol D. Hackney.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Chester; her parents, a daughter, Nancy Conger Thomasson; and a brother, Terry Cole.

Services will be held Friday Jan. 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Blodgett Church of Christ in Blodgett with Larry Black officiating and her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Burial will be at Blodgett Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church.
