Paul Art Henderson, age 68, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed away during the morning of October 16, 2019 in his home. He was born to the late Paul Eugene Henderson and Dorothy Nell Rogers Henderson in Mt. Vernon, TX 1951, Art married the love of his life Melba Jean Gautney on July 16, 1971 in Mt. Pleasant, TX where they made their home for 48 years.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with interment following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with David Hammonds, Jeff Swaden, James Woods, Manuel Herrera, Alan Roach, and Josh Roach serving as pallbearers, and Class of ’69 serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation was held Friday, October 18, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Art was good hearted, loving father, husband, brother and friend. He recently retired as General Manager for 16 years with Warren Truck and Trailer of Talco, TX. He enjoyed shooting sporting clays with friends and family. He was the most patient mentor anyone could have learned from no matter what task you wanted to take on from welding, shooting, water skiing, to learning operate machinery, driving his tractor he would be there by your side the whole way.

Art is survived by his loving wife Melba Henderson; daughter, Marci Henderson; son Michael Henderson; grandchildren, Grace Henderson, Hagen Henderson, Maddie Henderson and J.C. Henderson; sister and brother in law Rynee and Gary Roach; brother in law, John Murray Gautney; mother in law, Mary Jahron Gautney; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
