GAUTNEY

Mary Jahron Ryan Gautney, age 94 of Mount Pleasant, passed away during the evening of March 13, 2020. She was born to the late Samuel Madison Ryan and Ova Elizabeth Minshew Ryan in Cason, Texas on February 5, 1926.

Mary married her loving husband John Henry Gautney on July 5, 1941. Mary Jahron was a mother, wife, and homemaker. Some of her family had special names they called her; Mom, Sugg, Aunt Jahron, Aunt Ronnie, Mamaw and Friend. Our loss is heaven’s gain. She lived a Christian life, read her Bible daily, and was one classy Grandmother and Lady.

She is survived by her daughter, Melba Jean Henderson; son, John Murray Gautney; grandchildren, Marci Henderson, Michael Henderson, and Jessica Craig; great grandchildren, Grace, Hagen, Maddie, J.C. and Elaina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Gautney; 2 sisters, Raynelle Marquardt and Betty Joyce Demetri; 2 brothers, H.B. Ryan and Matt Ryan, Jr.; sister-in-law, Walcie Lou Bynum; and son-in-law, Art Henderson.

A visitation was held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A graveside service was held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Blevins Cemetery in Cason, Texas.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Mount Pleasant; Chambers Home Health and Hospice; Titus County Cares; or the charity of your choice, in Memory of Mary Jahron Gautney.
