Charles Lee Bednar died Oct. 2, 2018, with his family by his side at Canton Oaks Rehabilitation Center. Charles was born Oct. 22, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to J.C. Bednar and Loyette Bednar (White). He joined the Army in 1972 and served in the Vietnam War with the Special Forces Unit. In 1986, He attended Northeast Texas Community College pursuing a career as an automotive mechanic. Charles enjoyed tinkering with cars, watching NASCAR racing, and was a diehard fan of Dale Earnhardt. His personality could light up a room, even to the day he passed. His tall tales and jokes would bring a smile to everyone’s faces. Charles leaves behind his two sons; Chris Bednar and Bobby Bednar, daughter Melanie Davis and husband Jody; seven grandchildren, Christian, Hanna, Haydn, Serenity, Evie, Harlee, and Gatlin; stepfather Jerry White; and brother Keith Bednar and many loving family members and friends.
