Foundation receives $25,000 donation from Hampton estate

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $25,000 from the estate of Helen Hampton. The funds are being used to establish the Charlie and Helen Hampton Memorial Endowed Scholarship, which will be awarded to graduates of Paul Pewitt High School. Korey B. Harrison Memorial Culinary Arts Scholarship established

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $10,000 donation from Franklin M. and Linda. S. Harrison, of Pittsburg. The funds are being used to establish the Korey B. Harrison Memorial Scholarship in memory of their late grandson. Korey was formally trained in culinary arts and enjoyed a career working in restaurants around the country. In keeping with his passion, the scholarship will benefit students enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at NTCC.

Everybody has a day that they consider their “rock bottom.” And rock bottom can be a night and day difference depending on your own individual life. It could be as bad as going to jail or losing a loved one. It can also be something like, “business has been so bad for me this year that I had to get a Jaguar instead of the Maserati that I wanted.” One might seem trivial and insignificant to others who don’t live that type of life.
