Christmas as I knew it

Growing up in a small town in Oklahoma, Christmas was always a special time of year for me as a child. Rotarian Karen Ray addresses Rotary Foundation

At their December 3, 2025, weekly meeting, Rotarian Karen Ray talked about the foundations of the Rotary Club, from Paul Harris’s inception in 1904 forward, and the achievable degrees of the Paul Harris Fellow. For each $1,000 a Rotarian donates, it will get them to the ultimate goal of $10,000 in donations to the Foundation. That makes that Rotarian a Major Donor, and the designation pins stones go from sapphire to diamond as more is donated. The Foundation funds are used for Rotary programs around the world, including seven key areas: Peace and Conflict Prevention, Disease Prevention & Treatment (especially polio eradication), Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, Economic and Community Development, and Environmental Sustainability, funding global projects for health, education, and poverty alleviation. Their mission is to help create a better world.
