Exciting research in oncology is shifting toward a more personalized approach to cancer prevention and treatment –– starting with genetics. The genetic blueprint that determines your hair and eye color also shapes your risk for developing certain diseases, such as cancer. Genetic testing offers a window into examining your unique DNA –– allowing you to better understand your risk for developing cancer and take proactive steps for early detection and prevention.

Gifted and Talented Nomination Window Opens March 3, 2025

Pittsburg ISD is currently seeking nominations for the G/T (Gifted and Talented) Program. The district is looking for students who exhibit high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area; possess an unusual capacity for leadership; or excel in a specific academic field. Nomination forms are available in the office of each campus and should be returned to the campus office no later than March 28, 2025. Testing will be conducted before the end of the current school year, and qualified nominees will be placed in the program at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.
