March 13, 2020 H EAD COUNT - 360 RD STEERS:
On March 13, Governor Abbott issued an Emergency Disaster Declaration for the state of Texas. Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) regularly requires jails, prisons, and holding facilities to have a written plan for visitation per 37 Texas Admin Code 291.4(2), but according to the Camp County Sheriff’s office, TCOLE requested Governor Abbott’s office grant a suspension of the rule given current circumstances. Governor Abbott’s office approved this suspension, and as a result, Camp County Jail will not allow visitation until the Disaster Declaration is no longer in effect. COURTESY PHOTO
