The Anvil offers hot meals, groceries to locals

Amid concerns for COVID-19, groceries have been scarce, as have necessities such as textiles and over the counter medicines. Many restaurants have opted to close, but Pittsburg’s Anvil Brewery has taken another approach. Rather than closing and laying off employees, Byron and Kristin Aldredge, owners of The Anvil, have decided to retrain their employees to provide more to the community. The Anvil now offers some grocery items, hot meals, and some textiles to local residents.

TYLER, Texas, March 23, 2020 – Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) is proud to announce an appreciation pay for all hourly retail and logistics employees in recognition for the tireless dedication and selfless service to their respective communities. Employees will receive a temporary pay increase of $1 per hour effective March 24 – May 1, 2020.
