East Texas Giving Day, Apr 28th, was a huge success for families of Camp county right when they needed it the most. God’s Closet’s goal this year was to fund 2 months of food for families impacted by COVID-19.
NTCC’s Jacob Lambie named International Vice-President for Phi Theta Kappa
Jacob Lambie successfully campaigned for and won the position of International Vice-President for Division II for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Lambie will be the first student from Northeast Texas Community College to hold that highly respected position. Division II includes 326 chapters in 7 Regional Organizations, comprising Alabama, Florida, British Virgin Islands, Peru, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas.
Warmer weather brings snakes out in Northeast Texas
With temperatures rising, Northeast Texas’s least cuddly citizens are coming out to warm themselves in wooded areas, pastures, and even back yards. Keeping your family safe during this season means knowing which snakes are venomous, where they like to hide, how you can deter them from entering your yard and your home, and what to do if one does appear.

The ancient Greeks used the word, “Basileia,” so much in everyday life that the New Testament writers picked it up and used it nearly 100 times. Its frequent use in the Scriptures reveals its importance. Like most words, Basileia has several definitions but, it is usually translated as “Kingdom.” “The time is fulfilled, the Kingdom of God has come near” (Mark 1:15). Cedric Mayson, a South African theologian whose thinking was shaped by his own struggles against his nation’s apartheid regime insisted that “Kingdom” is a bad translation.
