NTCC to offer business training under new TWC Skills initiative

In response to COVID-19, the Commissioners of the Texas Workforce Commission approved new Skills initiatives to assist businesses in training and growing their workforce as Texas prepares to reopen for business. Their recommendation supports up to $10 million in Skills Development Funds to support training in High Demand occupations at prevailing wage with priority given to training in the healthcare, manufacturing (including food and agriculture), and IT sectors retooling business processes in direct response to needs identified by COVID-19.

NTCC Eagle newspaper staff brings home 53 TIPA awards

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagle newspaper staff recently learned it won a record-setting 53 awards from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA). In addition to Eagle Adviser, Mandy Smith, being named the 2019 Charles “Chuck” Choate Memorial Adviser of the Year, the newspaper staff also brought home the coveted first place General Excellence award for Division 5.
